In the academic year of 1986-1987, the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, which was opened under the Department of Eastern Languages and Literature, has admitted students to the regular education program in 1992 and to the secondary education program since 1993. In the following period, this department continues its education as the head of a separate department under the name of Arabic Language and Literature Department.

The mission of the Arabic Language and Literature Bachelor's Program is to educate science experts who will do scientific research in the field of Arabic language and literature, in the light of modern methods and scientific principles and specialize in their field.

To enable students to know the Arabic language, literature and culture, to understand the similar and different features of this language with the Turkish language, and to learn it at a good level that will be beneficial for Turkey in their professional life.

The vision of the Arabic Language and Literature Bachelor's Program is to provide quality education and scientific research at a universal level, and to enable students to specialize in advanced theoretical and practical fields.

Our biggest goal is to educate students who are full of knowledge and skills with an academic staff, each of whom is an expert in their field. The vision of this program is to educate students who have a very good command of Arabic language; who can read and understand classical and modern texts; who can effectively transfer the thoughts of others into this language; who can objectively evaluate the information they have obtained in scientific research.
