It was established in the 1976-1977 academic year as one of the 6 departments of the Faculty of Science. It received faculty support from universities such as Ankara University and METU. Many faculty members from the department are working in various universities. Currently; 8 professors, 7 associate professors, 7 assistant professors, 7 doctoral faculty members and 5 research assistants. It continues its education in Alaeddin Keykubat Campus where it moved in 1987-1988.

PURPOSE
The main aim of the undergraduate education of the Department of Mathematics is to educate students in a comprehensive manner and to train them as independent, critical and self-confident individuals who can examine and apply mathematics and to prepare students who aim to enter the top 500 universities in the world for graduate studies in this direction.

EMPLOYMENT
Graduates of the Department of Mathematics can find career opportunities as teachers in primary and secondary education institutions, trainers in private education institutions, mathematics and computer-aided solution generation specialists in banking and insurance sectors, and engineering analysis and design departments of enterprises. In addition, academic fields of study such as master's and doctoral studies and opportunities to take part in research projects are open to them.
GRADUATE REQUIREMENT
In order to graduate from the Mathematics Undergraduate program, it is required to pass all the compulsory courses and elective courses in the education program, to have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and to complete a total of 240 ECTS credits.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The person who wants to enroll in the Department of Mathematics must be registered by ÖSYM within the framework of the academic and legal legislation of Selçuk University.
Our department aims to educate individuals who have the knowledge to carry out studies at the international level in all fields of mathematics and who have the ability to apply the knowledge they have acquired to other disciplines, who can think and think critically, who can solve the problems they face, who are pioneers in their position and respect universal values, and to conduct quality scientific studies and research.
The Undergraduate Program of the Department of Mathematics aims to educate people who have the basic knowledge in areas closely related to mathematics such as computer software, finance, economics, etc. with undergraduate level knowledge that can conduct research in different fields of mathematics.
